District attorney files indictment demanding 15 yrs, 6 months imprisonment to acid attackersk



JANAKPURDHAM: District Attorney’s office, Dhanusha has filed an indictment demanding 15 years and 6 months imprisonment against acid attackers and people selling acid illegally.

According to Sita Ram Aryal, the District Attorney, the indictment was filed at the District Court, Dhanusha on Wednesday.

Sanjeev Sah, 26, had attacked his wife Aarati Sah and daughter Riya with acid in Janakpurdham-4 on November 4.

District Attorney Aryal said the office has demanded punishment against three offences including mutilation, ugliness and integrated offences.

An investigation has revealed that the husband had bought acid from Nikhil Sah’s Nikhil store for Rs 80 one day prior to the attack.

Arati sustained multiple injuries like loss of eye sight of right eye and injuries on neck, chest and breasts.

She is undergoing treatment at Kirtipur Hospital in Kathmandu.

Likewise, Aarati’s daughter Riya sustained injury on her head and right hand. She has got scars due to the attack.
