Sajha Party and Bibeksheel unify to form Bibeksheel Sajha Party

KATHMANDU: Bibeksheel Nepali Dal and Sajha Party have announced merger to form Bibeksheel Sajha Party on Wednesday.

The two parties announced their merger amidst a program.

The new party will have a 26-member secretariat committee and 130-member central committee following the unification.

Earlier, Sajha Party and Bibeksheel Dal had split on January 11, 2019, around 16 months after their first unification.

The logo and election symbol will be a traditional weighing scale (taraju) as before after the unification.

Rabindra Mishra of Sajha Party will be the chairman while Pandey of Bibeksheel will take charge as the coordinator in the new party.

“Our major agenda will be good-governance and zero-tolerance on corruption,” Mishra said during the virtual program on unification.

The agreement letter has it that the party will go for general convention within six months of the unification.

As many as 13 leaders of Bibeksheel including Vice Chairperson Ajita Rai, however, did not take part in the unification process.
