Septuagenarian succumbs to COVID-19 in Rupandehi

BUTWAL: A 73-year-old man has died from COVID-19 in the course of treatment at Bhim Hospital in Rupandehi district.

The septuagenarian who tested positive for coronavirus on December 5 succumbed to the virus at 11 pm on Tuesday night, informed Dr Narayan Pokharel, the formation officer of the hospital.

Originally from Sainamaina municipality, the patient had been admitted to the hospital on December 7 after he complained of respiratory complications and dry coughs.

Undergone heart surgery eight years ago, the patient had also been suffering from high blood pressure and chronic diabetes, said Adhikari.
