Dolpa schools reopen

DOLPA: The community schools in the district of Dolpa closed since March 14 after the nationwide lockdown owing to the coronavirus threat have reopened.

The schools in the mountainous district reopened after Tripurasundari Municipality, Mudkechula and Jagadulla Rural Municipality gave a nod for the schools to reopen in the local levels. However, Thulibheri Municipality has not given permission to reopen the schools.

According to headmaster Ramananda Upadhyay of local Tripura Secondary School, they decided to reopen the schools after receiving permission letters from the local levels.

He added that the schools have been reopened after fully sanitizing the classrooms as they were used for quarantine facilities for almost eight months.

However, the District Administration Office has directed the schools not to reopen stating that gathering of students could spread the virus.
