NCP Disciplinary Commission calls for immediate meeting to resolve dispute

KATHMANDU: At a time when the internal rift in the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is gaining new heights, the Disciplinary Commission of the party has called for an immediate meeting to resolve the dispute.

Commission Chairman Amrit Kumar Bohara in a statement on Monday expressed concerns over ‘unpleasant things’ like ‘slander, ‘condemnation’, ‘accusation-rebuttal’, and ‘party split’ being carried out in media.

“Comrades, let’s have a party meeting as soon as possible. Let’s not make the issue of holding a meeting a matter of prestige,” Bohara said, “Party decisions are made for the implementation. Not for decorating drawers. Since the time of party unity, many decisions of the standing committee and the central committee have remained unimplemented.”

A majority of Secretariat members of the party on Saturday had urged the Prime Minister to call party meetings.
However, Prime Minister Oli is reluctant to do so.

Already rendered into a minority in Secretariat Committee, Oli on Sunday had called senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, Bhim Rawal, Surendra Pandey, and Raghuji Pant to Baluwatar and urged them to move ahead in a mutual agreement.
