Chandragiri Municipality reports 551 coronavirus cases, five casualties so far



KATHMANDU: The Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu has recorded five deaths from coronavirus so far.

The municipality has witnessed a total of 551 COVID-19 infected persons as of now.

Five persons from the municipality succumbing to the flu-like infection were from ward no 3, 5, 9 and 14. In the municipality that has a total of 15 wards, ward no 8 has reported the highest cases of infection at 104.

According to the municipality spokesperson, Haribhakta Maharjan, the lowest cases of coronavirus were reported from ward no 2 of the Municipality at eight.

Altogether 10,000 suspected persons have undergone PCR test till date, he said adding that as many as 343 infected persons have returned home after recovery.

Likewise, a total of 165 persons were availing treatment at home-isolation while 38 were receiving treatment at various health facilities across the Kathmandu Valley.

The municipality has converted various community schools into quarantine facilities.
