One dies after being beaten by two persons in Bhaktapur



KATHMANDU: One person has been beaten to death by two persons who came to see the land in Bhaktapur.

Chandra Kumar Yonjan, 61, of Sundal in Changunarayan Municipality-8 was beaten by two unidentified persons on Wednesday.

He died at the Green City Hospital in Kathmandu on Thursday morning, said Krishna Thebe, spokesperson of the Metropolitan Police Circle, Bhaktapur.

Two people came to see the land and asked Yonjan to show them the land one and a half kilometers away from the house. But all of a sudden, they beat him to death and left him there.

According to the family, he was beaten at 5.30 pm.

The injured Yonjan was taken to Madhyapur Thimi Hospital for treatment. He was referred to Kathmandu at night.

According to DSP Thebe, Yonjan used to buy and sell land.

The reason for the beating was not disclosed, said Superintendent of Police Tara Devi Thapa.

“Those who beat him are absconding. They are being searched,” she said, adding that the cause was yet to be clear.
