Minister Bhattarai directs NAC to procure aircraft

KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai has directed the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) to immediately move ahead with the purchase of aircraft for domestic flights.

Minister Bhattarai gave the directive in a joint meeting with the Executive Chairman and departmental heads of the national flag carrier at the ministry on Wednesday.

Saying that NAC has only two Twin Otter aircraft for domestic flights, Minister Bhattarai added that it can’t provide services in remote areas with only these aircraft.

Minister Bhattarai also directed to prepare a model after discussing with the Citizen Investment Trust, Employees Provident Fund, Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Finance to take NAC to a public model.
