Nepalgunj city sealed off



NEPALGUNJ: The District Administration Office, Banke has sealed off Nepalgunj city effective from last night amid the ongoing prohibitory order put in place to prevent further spread of coronavirus infection.

The Nepal Army will maintain surveillance in the sealed area. Chief District Officer and chief of security agencies in the district have been in the field since Sunday morning to monitor the situation.

The concerned authority implemented the prohibitory order in Banke district and sealed off Nepalgunj to save people’s lives from the pandemic.

The meeting chaired by CDO Ram Bahadur Kuruwang decided to seal off the area spanning Pushpalalchowk to Ganeshmanchowk, Ganeshmanchowk to Charbahinichowk, Pipalchautara to Bankegaun, Bankegaun to Ring Road, Army Barrack to Naharpuruwachowk and Naharpuruwachowk to Buspark.

Meanwhile, the maternity ward of Bheri Hospital in Banke district has been sealed off after an expecting mother tested positive for COVID-19, informed Bheri Hospital’s medical superintendent Dr Prakash Thapa.

State Assembly Member has tested positive for coronavirus.

He was actively working in the campaign to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to treat the infected ones.
