Bank in Lahan sealed off after employees test positive for coronavirus



LAHAN: The Global IME Bank in Lahan has been sealed off after a bank staffer tested positive for coronavirus.

Other staffers at the bank have been kept in quarantine.

A 34-year-old bank employee from Mahottari was found positive for the COVID-19.

According to Lahan Municipality’s health section chief Ram Sundar Yadav, the bank employees were kept in a quarantine facility set up at a local hotel.

The employee had the symptoms as common cold and fever.

He is now receiving treatment at an isolation ward of the Janakpur-based State Hospital.

As he had discharged duty from the bank counter at the Inland Revenue Office of Lahan, those in the Inland Revenue Office have also been quarantined.

Office Chief Kamal Bahadur Rajlawat informed that the services in the bank were halted with acute need of PCR tests among its staffers.

In the wake of growing cases of coronavirus, Lahan Municipality, Golbazar Municipality and Mirchaiya Municipality have imposed lockdown till August 14.
