Jambu and Bhotekoshi flood: Two deceased identified



SINDHUPALCHOWK: Two people who had gone missing in the incident of flooding caused by the Thadokhola rivulet at Jambu, Khagdal and Bulkote last night have been found dead.

The flood was triggered by continuous rainfall since last night.

The deceased are 20-year-old Nikesh Basnet and his three-year-old daughter of Jambu, Bahrabise municipality-5, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Madhav Prasad Kafle, said.

Eighteen people have gone missing while five people have sustained serious injuries in the incident.

Nepal Army, the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police personnel are carrying out rescue at the incident site.

Traffic along the Araniko highway in the area has been disrupted after the flood in the Bhotekoshi river washed away portions of the road at various locations.

The flood has swept away 11 houses at Jambu and 20 big and small houses along with a concrete bridge at Khagdal. RSS
