Lightning kills one, injures two



SARLAHI:  A person has died after being struck by lightning in Sarlahi district.

The decease has been identified as 18-year-old Chhotu Paswan of Bagmati municipality-19, Nayabasti, of the district.

According to police, lightning struck Paswan and Kamala while they were planting rice in the field of Sunmaya Basnet of Bagmati municipality-8 this morning.

Seriously injured Paswan breathed his last while being rushed to hospital while Mukhiya regained her consciousness and returned home, said DSP Madan Kunwar, the spokesperson of District Police Office, Sarlahi.

Similarly, 35-year-old person sustained injuries in the lightning that struck at Balara municipality in Bara.
