Five persons infected with dengue in Myagdi



MYAGDI: Five persons have been infected with dengue in Beni municipality, a team mobilized to control the disease has said.

A campaign has been intensified in Myagdi to search and destroy mosquito larvae to prevent the spread of dengue.

An awareness campaign has been launched in the district.

After the detection of dengue cases in the district, a meeting of the people’s representatives and the neighborhood reform committee has been formed in the municipality to destroy mosquito larvae and devise a ward-level plan against the infection, according to Rajendra Kumar Shrestha, ward chair of the municipality-7.

As part of the campaign, measures, including spraying pesticides, keeping the areas neat and clean, identifying the places with larvae and their destruction are underway.

Support from Nepal Police and Nepal Army will also be taken in this regard, municipality mayor Hari Kumar Shrestha said.
