Carrier train mishap kills 16 in India



AURANGABAD: 16 migrant workers sleeping on tracks were run over by a carrier train near Jalna in Maharashtra, India on Friday.

At least 15 migrant workers died after being run over by goods train near Jalna in Maharashtra at about 5:30 am on Friday.

According to PTI the migrant laborers were returning to Madhya Pradesh and were sleeping on the tracks when the mishap took place.

Five laborers injured in the incident are undergoing treatment in Aurangabad Civil Hospital.

PM Modi has expressed sadness at the tragic incident and has stated that he has talked to Railway Minister about the incident.

“Extremely anguished…Have spoken to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and he is closely monitoring the situation. All possible assistance required is being provided,” PM Modi has tweeted in his social account.

According to Maharashtra police, the details are still to come and the police have started the investigation.
