Two infected in Kapilvastu taken to Lumbini State Hospital



KAPILVASTU: Two persons from Mayadevi rural municipality in Kapilvastu who had tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday have been taken to corona hospital at Lumbini State Hospital, Butwal.

The two persons were taken to the specialized hospital in an ambulance.

Two of the 65 suspected patients undergoing tests for the virus are confirmed to have been contracted the disease.

The infected brothers from Mayadevi rural municipality-2 had returned home from Mumbai, India escaping security screening through Chakadchauda border transit point.

They were quarantined at local Tirthddevi Chhatrapali Secondary School with the help of local people.

Chief administrative officer of the rural municipality, Janak Raj Panthi said swabs of other people who have been quarantined in the area would be tested, adding a search operation has been launched to trace those who had come in contact with the two infected.

The two infected brothers were accompanied with a family of five members all the way from Mumbai, said Inspector Ganesh Subedi. Health of the infected is normal, said the hospital’s medical superintendent Dr Rajendra Khanal, adding that they would be kept in isolation after carrying out several tests.
