Swiss govt donates 30,000 PCR test kits

KATHMANDU: The government of Switzerland has donated 30,000 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)-based testing kits for COVID-19 to Nepal.

Swiss Ambassador Elisabeth Von Capeller handed over the kits to Health Minister Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal at a function held at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday evening.

Prior to this, the Swiss government had provided 1,000 PPE sets, 8,000 infrared thermometer and 8,000 N95 masks.

Also, the Swiss government has, through the Swiss Development Cooperation, provided five million Swiss franc to the COVID-19 preparedness, relief and recovery efforts of Nepal.
