Ministry of Culture and Tourism halts budget of related departments



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) has suspended the budget of all departments, boards, authorities, committees and commissions that have been working under the ministry’s supervision.

The decision to this effect was made as per the Ministry of Finance directives.

Gopi Chandra Bhandari, deputy secretary at MoCTCA informed that they have halted the budget allocated under 14 various titles for the bodies working under the ministry.

According to him, the MoCTCA will not be responsible for the expenditure made by bodies and organizations such as the Department of Archaeology, Department of Tourism, Language Commission and Narayanhiti Durbar Square, among other bodies after April 2.
