COVID-19 infects over 1.4 million, kills nearly 82,000 across world



KATHMANDU: With the COVID-19 going pandemic across the world, the novel virus has killed 81, 977 and infected 1,425,837 people as of Wednesday morning.

According to Worldometer, 7, 323 people died and 79, 801 were infected in a single day. Currently, 1,042, 032 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals globally, of which 47, 912 are critical.

Italy, the worst-hit country in terms of deaths, has reported 17, 127 deaths.

According to reports, the number of infection cases has reached 135, 586 after 3, 039 people were infected in the last 24 hours.

Currently, 94, 067 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 3, 792 are critical. Meanwhile, 24, 392 have recovered after treatment.

Similarly, the number of death toll from coronavirus in the United kingdom has reached 6, 159 after 786 died in single day.

According to Worldometer, 3, 634 new cases were reported, taking the total infection cases to 55, 242. Currently, 48, 948 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals, of which 1, 559 are critical. Only 135 patients have recovered after treatment so far.

Likewise, the death toll from the novel virus has reached 10, 338 in France after 1, 417 people died in the last 24 hours.

According to reports, 11, 059 were infected in a single day taking the total number of infection cases to 109,069 in the country.  Currently, 79, 404 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals, of which 7, 131 are critical. Meanwhile, 19, 337 people have recovered after treatment as of Wednesday morning.

Coronavirus has claimed 1, 924 people, the highest number ever in a single day, in the United States of America, taking the total number of deaths to 12, 795.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, the number of infection cases has reached 395, 644 in the country after 28, 640 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Currently, 361, 175 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 9, 169 are critical. Only 21, 674 have recovered after treatment in the country so far.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 209 countries and two international conveyances across the world as of Wednesday morning.
