Woman survives acid attack in Kapilvastu



KAPILVASTU: A woman has been subjected to an acid attack at Maharajgunj municipality-1 in Kapilvastu.

Bedamati Devi Gupta, 51, belongs to the same locality.

Ward Police Office Chandrauta’s Police Inspector Dipesh Kharel said she is out of a life-threatening condition.

Her neighbor Hari Naryan Barai threw acid on her body when Gupta insisted he should pay for a cricket bat he had broken.

Accused Barai is the owner of a battery repairing center.

Police have, meanwhile, confiscated five liters of acid from his shop.

He will be tried under a murder attempt case, police said.
