Departmental action recommended against policeman involved in Bhaisepati incident

KATHMANDU: A probe team formed to investigate Bhaisepati incident has recommended a departmental action against Police Inspector Devi Prasad Poudel, the then In-charge of Metropolitan Police, Sector Bhaisepati.

A police team led by Lalitpur Police Spokesperson  SP Durga Singh formed to probe the incident has recommended action as per the Nepal Police regulations.

Poudel was recalled for necessary investigation after a video of him baton charging a woman carrying a child had gone viral in social media.

Poudel had baton-charged a woman Hema Shrestha at the house of Nepal Army retired General in Bhaisepati. His action had drawn criticism from several quarters.
