ANFA, APF reach agreement to establish Football Academy



KATHMANDU: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and Nepal APF School today signed a six-year historic agreement to establish Nepal APF School Football Academy.

ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa and AIG of the Armed Police Force, Pushpa Ram K.C signed and exchanged the agreement that states collaboration of ANFA and APF Academy to facilitate the young football players.

Both parties agree in addition to establishing a long-term agreement that represents a firm step towards achieving a goal that prioritizes education and combines with professional football.

“We are proud and delighted to announce the agreement with Nepal APF School to form an Academy. This a historic agreement to develop a healthy relationship that surrounds the development of players and coaches. This has been
our goal in order to unlock the huge potential of Nepalese football as we create an eco-system” said ANFA President Sherpa after signing the agreement.

The contract means ANFA and APF School Football Academy will jointly facilitate young players in each alternate year.

The technical team of ANFA and APF Academy will select 21 players; among which 14 players will be sponsored by the ANFA and APF (7/7 each). The parties will finance all the educational costs of the players till they complete high school (grade 12).

The academy will run by ANFA’s qualified coaches and are open to boys aged 13-14yrs.

Speaking about the partnership, Inspector General of Armed Police Force, Shailendra Khanal said, “APF school is delighted to partner with the ANFA. We look forward to working hand in hand with ANFA to promote talented youth players around the nation.”

“The link-up provides us with the opportunity to take our young players to our senior team and to the national teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to benefit from the Academy with experience and knowledge. This will also help young players to experience Elite Player and aspire to a professional career in football. We have agreed to work together with the intent of developing the football standards as well,” added IG Khanal.
