Province-1 govt to provide free treatment to COVID-19 patients



BIRATNAGAR: The Province-1 government, Biratnagar Metropolitan City and private sector’s Civil Care Centre are set to run treatment centers to provide treatment free of cost to symptomatic COVID-19 patients.

The treatment center with 100 beds is come into operation after Tihar festival.

The Province-1 government has provided Rs 20 million and Biratnagar Metropolis provided Rs 2.5 million for the center to be constructed at the Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar.

Minister for Social Development in the province, Jeevan Ghimire informed that the under-construction center would facilitate the treatment of the COVID-19 patients.

All treatment would be provided for free of cost, he said adding that another 100-bed treatment center with specialized services would also be set up.

Similarly, a 50-bed treatment center with ventilators was being constructed in Mechi Hospital, Jhapa.
