PM Oli, leader Nepal hold talks in Baluwatar



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman KP Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal are holding talks at Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday.

PM Oli summoned leader Nepal a day after five Secretariat members including Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ demanded to convene Secretariat meeting.

Leaders close to Nepal —Bhim Rawal, Surendra Pandey and Raghuji Pant— are also present in the discussion.

It should be noted that NCP leaders who reached Baluwatar on Saturday afternoon with a letter demanding an immediate meeting of the Secretariat, however, returned empty-handed failing to convince Prime Minister Oli.

No agreement was reached between PM Oli and the disgruntled faction led by Prachanda on convening the meeting of the nine-member Secretariat pushing further uncertainty within the party.
