WASHINGON: Democrat Joe Biden in his first speech as US president-elect, vowed “not to divide but unify” the country.

He will become the President of the United States in January, pending the outcome of any legal challenges.

His running mate, Kamala Harris, will be the first-ever female vice-president of America.

Harris has made history by becoming the first woman to be elected to office.

In her first speech as vice-president-elect, Kamala touted her running-mate Joe Biden. “You chose hope and unity, decency, science and yes, truth,” she said. “You chose Joe Biden as the next president of the United States of America.”
