Province 1 records 411 fresh COVID-19 cases

BIRATNAGAR: A total of 411 people were diagnosed coronavirus positive in the last 24 hours in a record-high case in a single day.

According to the Ministry of Social Development, 174 people were infected in Morang, 155 in Sunsari, 36 in Jhapa, 19 in Udayapur, two each in Bhojpur, Ilam, and Taplejung, one each in Dhankuta, Khotang, Sankhuwasabha, and Tehrathum and 17 outside Province 1.

According to the ministry, 100 people have been infected in Biratnagar. Among them are 34 women and 66 men.

The number of coronavirus cases in Province 1 has reached 8,857 with fresh cases.

Meanwhile, a total of 458 people have been discharged on Thursday.

As many as 421 people have been discharged from home isolation, 21 from District Hospital, Sankhuwasabha, and 16 from Birat Medical College.

 So far, 4,662 people have been discharged after recovery.
