Graft case filed against 15 including Bheri Hospital staffers

KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against 15 people, including staffers of Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj.

The anti-graft body filed a lawsuit at Special Court on Thursday, alleging embezzlement of Rs 1.6 million.

It is mentioned in the charge sheet that Arun Raj Khanal, a computer operator working in the hospital, was arrested with an amount as commission and checks taken from various firms and shops and Rs 1.6 million which source couldn’t be disclosed.

CIAA has stated that Bheri Hospital Accounts Officer Madhav Prasad Acharya, Accountant Indra Bahadur Khatri and Joint Accountant Prem Bahadur Khatri were also involved in the corruption.

Similarly, the cases were filed against the operators of 11 firms demanding a fine of Rs 100,000 to Rs 20,000.
