Nepali migrant worker sentenced to death

KATHMANDU: High Court in Malaysia has sentenced a Nepali migrant worker to death on the charge of murdering a Malaysian citizen.

Suraj Dev Sah Teli, 36, of Govindapur, Dhanusha, was sentenced to death for murdering 34-year-old R Haridas of Batu-10 in Kampung in Malaysia on August 17.

Teli had murdered Haridas on December 2 in 2016. Haridhas was a driver by profession.

Meanwhile, Nepali Embassy in Malaysia has appealed to the Appellate Court in Malaysia for Teli’s life.

Teli had gone to Malaysia as a migrant worker in 2006. Earlier, Malaysia Court has sentenced six Nepali nationals to deaths in Malaysia.
