Bagmati Province Speaker, Chief Secretary test negative for coronavirus

HETAUDA: Speaker of Bagmati Province Sanu Kumar Shrestha and Chief Secretary of the Province Assembly Secretariat Krishna Hari Khadka have tested negative for COVID-19.

Reports of both Shrestha and Khadka have come negative, confirmed Dr. Purushottam Sedain, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Social Development of the Province. They had PCR rested for the virus.

On Friday, swab samples of 40 staffs of the Province Assembly including its spokesperson and deputy spokesperson were collected and sent to the Vector-Borne Disease and Research Training Centre, Hetauda, said the Secretariat sources.

Of them, reports of 30 have come negative, and swab samples of the remaining 10 were being retested, according to the Ministry.

Some days ago, Speaker Shrestha and Chief Secretary Khadka had a meeting with Dr Roj Nath Pandey, Spokesperson of the Secretariat of the federal House of Representatives, at the SA Secretariat. Spokesperson Pandey had tested positive for the virus.
