Home Minister Thapa tests COVID-19 negative



KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa and his security and political advisers have tested negative for the coronavirus.

According to Home Minister’s Press Coordinator Kiran Bhattarai, Thapa and his advisers’ swab samples were collected on Thursday and the report came negative.

Minister Thapa’s swab sample was collected after he came in contact with Gyanendra Yadav, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Province 2, who had tested COVID-19 positive on Wednesday.

On Thursday, it was revealed that Yadav had met Prime Minister, Home Minister, the Inspector General of Police and Law Minister among others in Kathmandu.

Minister Yadav had a meeting with Prime Minister KP Oli, Home Minister Thapa and Home Secretary Maheshwar Neupane in Baluwatar.

Earlier on Friday, PM Oli too had tested negative for coronavirus.
