Gandaki Province reports 24 new COVID-19 cases



KATHMANDU: Coronavirus cases in Gandaki Province have reached 1,611 with the confirmation of 24 cases in four districts on Saturday afternoon.

Spokesperson of Gandaki Province Coronavirus Control and Prevention Program and Director of Health Directorate Gandaki Province Dr. Binod Bindu Sharma said in a statement that out of 782 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, 24 people were found to be infected.

A 29-year-old man from Kaligandaki Rural Municipality of Syangja and six people aged 9, 30, 51, 40, 39 and 11 from Putalibazaar Municipality have been infected.

Likewise, the infection has been confirmed on a 21-year-old man from Beni Municipality of Myagdi, two men aged 55 and 57 and a 49-year-old woman from Pokhara Metropolitan City of Kaski.

Similarly, 13 people aged 30, 21, 30, 22, 33, 31, 20, 35, 34, 29, 22 and 41 years of Baglung have been found infected.

In the last 24 hours, 50 swab samples from Gorkha, 51 from Tanahun, 68 from Lamjung, 183 from Syangja, 61 from Baglung, 55 from Myagdi and 314 from Kaski were tested at the laboratory of Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences and Tuberculosis Treatment Center, Pokhara.

The number of people recovering from the infection in Gandaki has reached 1,443.
