Nepal’s COVID-19 count reaches 16,423 with 225 new cases

As many as 253 discharged



KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population on Wednesday said 255 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the past 24 hours across the country.

Spokesperson at the Ministry Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, during a regular press briefing, stated that the COVID-19 count has reached 16,423 with the addition of the new cases.

According to him, 4,696 samples were tested through the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method in the past 24 hours.

Currently, 25,040 people are in quarantine centers and 8,636 undergoing treatment in isolation.

Meanwhile, 253 COVID-19 patients were discharged from different hospitals and isolation centers. So far, 7,752 people have been discharged across the country after recovery.

Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll stands at 35.
