Scuffle while burying dead body of coronavirus victim, 18 arrested

POKHARA: The body of a 58-year-old man from Waling, Syangja who died of coronavirus infection has been buried after 19 hours.

There was even a scuffle when managing the corpse. Police and the ward chairman were also injured in the scuffle.

The law enforcement agency has arrested 18 people for obstructing the management of the dead body.

Initially, the metropolis decided to manage the corpses in Haryokharka. However, the locals obstructed.

After the obstruction of the locals, the metropolis decided to bury the dead body at Pokhara-11, Ritheghat. A ditch was also dug with an excavator.

However, even there, the locals obstructed after they were supported by people’s representatives.

Police were then mobilized following a delay in the management of the dead body.
