COVID-19 kills 112, 469, infects 2,007,449 in USA



KATHMANDU: America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported 373 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 112, 469.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 18, 676 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 2,007,449 so far.

Currently, 1,136, 247 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 16, 915 are critical.  Meanwhile, 758, 504 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 30, 442 deaths followed by New Jersey and Massachusetts with 12,216 and 7, 316 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 213 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 406,107 and infecting 7,086, 008 people as of Monday morning.
