Six Nepalis enter Nepal crossing Mahakali River

DARCHULA: Six Nepalis on Wednesday entered Nepal by crossing the Mahakali River.

Birendra Thagunna, Naresh Singh Thagunna, Dhan Singh Thagunna, Deepak Singh Thagunna, Ganesh Thagunna of Naugaad Rural Municipality-3 and Krishna Od of Mahakali Municipality-5 entered Nepal by crossing the river with the help of a tube.

They had gone to Didihad of India for a foreign employment four months ago.

Five of them entered Nepal via Dattu checkpoint while the other via Kimtadi, informed Bhuwan Joshi, coordinator of Disaster Management Branch of Mahakali Municipality.

“The company has closed for a month now and I returned home,” said Birendra Thagunna, a local of Naugaadh-3, adding, “We crossed the Mahakali River since we had no idea of the suspension bridge connection between Nepal and India opening.
