USA reports 74,245 deaths, 1,258,802 infection cases



KATHMANDU: America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported 1,974 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 74,245 as of Thursday morning.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 21,169 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 1,258,802.

Currently, 978, 354 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 15,808 are critical.  Meanwhile, 206, 203 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 25, 956 deaths followed by New Jersey and Michigan with 8,572 and 4, 250 deaths, respectively.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 212 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 258,003 and infecting 3,724,144 people as of Wednesday morning.
