COVID-19 kills 136, infects 4, 778 in India

KATHMANDU: The number of infection cases from coronavirus pandemic has reached 4, 778 across India as of Tuesday morning.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, the number of infection cases surged to 4, 778 in India after 489 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

A total of 136 people have died so far due to the novel virus after 18 died in a single day.

According to Indian Council of Medical Research, seven died and 20 were infected in Maharashtra on Monday. The total death toll has climbed to 52 in the state with 868 infected.

Similarly, seven people have died and 525 have been infected with the novel virus in New Delhi.

Madhya Pradesh has reported 256 cases so far, 308 cases in Telangana, 303 in Andhra Pradesh and 327 in Kerala.
