Lightning disrupts telecom services



SINDHULI: The telecommunications services in and around Golanjor Rural Municipality of Sindhuli district have been disrupted after the lightning struck a tower of Nepal Telecom at Bhimsendanda area.

Superintendent of Police of Sindhuli Ranju Sigdel said equipment of the tower were damaged following the lightning on Saturday morning.

Sigdel shared that details of the losses on the equipment were not availed so far.

Likewise, meter boxes of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) fixed in five houses were also damaged in the lightning.

Basudhara Khadka, an official of the Nepal Telecom, said that technicians will reach the site on Sunday and the services would be brought into operation at the earliest possible time.
