One held for black marketeering hand sanitizers



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man on the charge of black-marketeering of surgical goods including hand sanitizers in the capital.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from Metropolitan Police Circle, New Road arrested Anil Gupta of Priya Traders for selling mask and hand sanitizers at high prices on Friday evening.

Gupta, originally from India, was caught while black marketeering of surgical goods including hand sanitizers at a shop based a Bangemuda of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-25, said police.

Police rounded up Gupta on the charge of selling a surgical good for Rs 300 against Rs 100, said DSP Sunil Jung Shah of Metropolitan Police Circle, New Road.

Meanwhile police have seized 814 sets of hand sanitizers. Preparations are underway to file a case against Gupta under the Market Protection Act 2063, said police.
