‘Hindu Raksha Dal’ claims responsibility for JNU attack

NEW DELHI: A fringe Hindu group called ‘Hindu Raksha Dal’ has claimed responsibility for the Sunday’s attack in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

The group’s leader, Pinky Chaudhary, stated that the group couldn’t tolerate what he called as JNU’s ‘anti-national activities’.

Chaudhary said that the attackers were the workers of the Hindu Raksha Dal.

Government authorities, meanwhile, said that the Delhi Police is well-aware of Chaudhary’s claim. The claim is being investigated.

Meanwhile, protests were held in several Indian cities after a masked group attacked students and teachers at JNU on Sunday night, leaving several injured.

Even though the RSS’s student wing, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parisad, was being blamed for the attack, it has denied its involvement. (Agencies)
