NEPSE index up by 72.28 points, crosses 2,000-mark



KATHMANDU: The stock market that closed earlier due to negative circuit break on Sunday skyrocketed by more than 72 points on Monday.

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 72.28 points today to reach 2,004.39 points as trading closed.

Shares of Life Insurance sub-index rose by 698 points, Non-Life Insurance by 405 points, Manufacturing by 224 points, Trade by 130 points, Micro Finance by 127 points, Hydropower by 98 points, Others by 80 points, Hotels by 60 points and Banking sub-index by 31 points.

A total of 11.9 million shares of 206 companies worth Rs 6.66 billion were traded on Monday.
