KATHMANDU: The Standing Committee (SC) meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) will take place on December 13.
NCP Spokesperson Narayankaji Shrestha said that the party’s Central Committee meeting called for for December 10 has been rescheduled for December 20 citing the ongoing SC meeting.
In Sunday’s SC meeting, NCP Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli sent a written letter addressing the SC members stating that he could not join the meeting since it was summoned with a preparation to push the party on the verge of split.
Spokesperson Shrestha said that the letter of Chairman Oli was read out by secretariat member Ishwar Pokhrel.
It is said that efforts to sort out the intraparty disputes are on through informal talks. Earlier, the Secretariat meeting held on Saturday had decided to submit the reports of both the chairmen in the party’s SC meeting.
