Govt forms team to hold talks with Dr Govinda KC

Four-member talk team formed on behalf of Dr KC



KATHMANDU: The government has formed a team to hold talks with Dr Govinda KC, who is staging a fast-unto-death at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH).

A team has been formed under the leadership Dr Gopi Mainali, Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science and Technology.

Others members in the team include Dr Gunaraj Lohani, Joint Secretary at Ministry of Health and Population and Dilip Sharma, Director at Medical Education Commission.

Dr KC, who is on the 24th day of his 19th fast-unto-death at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) started hunger strike calling for implementation of his past agreements reached with the government.

Campaigner for reforms in the medical sector in Nepal, Dr KC has said he would not break his hunger strike this time until the reliable base is formed for the implementation of his past agreements.

Likewise, a four-member talk team has also been formed from the side of Dr KC with members including Dr Jiwan Chhetri, Dr Anjani Kumar Jha, Dr Lochan Karki and advocate Om Prakash Aryal.
