KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has provided Rs 6.1 million as compensation to the families of those who lost their lives in the landslide and flood at Dhorpatan Municipality in Baglung on September 2 this year.
MoHA released the amount and provided it to the survivors through the District Administration Office, Baglung.
As many as 22 people died and 15 other went missing in the incident.
Seven families in the locality lost more than a single member of their family in the disaster.
Altogether, 127 houses were swept away by the flood.
According to Chief District Officer (CDO) of Baglung, Suresh Neupane, the families all the victims, dead, injured and missing ones, of the incident were distributed the compensation.
The family who lost a single member of the family has been provided Rs 200,000 while those losing more than one person in the disasters received additional Rs 300,000, CDO Neupane said.
Likewise, people whose houses were rendered inhabitable in the incident were provided Rs 15,000 each.
