KATHMANDU: Following the government’s decision to resume flights, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has prepared aviation standards.
The government had instructed the ministry to formulate standards for operating domestic and international flights from Augsust17.
The ministry has prepared ‘Limited Regular Aviation Standards-2077’.
The criteria were discussed on Thursday by ministers, secretaries and department heads of the ministries of tourism, foreign affairs, home and health.
During the discussions, the Ministry of Home Affairs had proposed not to issue on-arrival visas to foreigners for the time being.
The meeting discussed how to operate domestic and international flights as the coronavirus cases have spiked in Kathmandu Valley.
According to the criteria prepared by the Ministry of Tourism, a certificate of negative PCR report has been made mandatory in case Nepali citizens coming to Nepal.
It is mentioned in the criteria that the report of the health check-up in the Nepali/English language or translated from the accredited laboratory/health institution of the country where the person is living should be presented.
The reports must mention the name, gender, age and passport number of the concerned passenger as far as possible, the result of the RT PCR test should negative within 72 hours and the name, address and clear details of the technical staff should be disclosed.
Similarly, before coming to Nepal, the form on website ccmc.gov.np should be filled online, if possible. If you are unable to fill in the online details before traveling for any reason, it is mentioned that you have to fill the health declaration form on the plane or at the airport.
After coming to Nepal, you will have to stay in the hotel quarantine for the first seven days and in the home quarantine for 14 days and you will be able to stay in the home quarantine only after the result is negative in the PCR.
Passengers will have to bear the cost of staying in the hotel.
Similarly, before staying in the home quarantine and after the quarantine period, the details must be informed to the local levels.
Similarly, if the RT PCR test is not available in the country of departure, the criteria stipulate that the recommendation of a certified/co-certified Nepali mission with that country is required.
Passengers will be issued a boarding pass only after confirming the proof of booking the hotel for at least seven days.
Similarly, the passports of the passengers who have entered Nepal after completing the process will have to be collected by the Immigration Desk at Tribhuvan International Airport and submitted to the Immigration Department.
The criteria prepared by the Ministry of Tourism are being discussed now. According to Tourism Secretary Kedar Bahadur Adhikari, it will probably be passed by Sunday.
