104 active cases, 42 cleared from isolation

Offering the COVID-19 updates in Victoria, the Consulate office has expressed its concerns over the high number of coronavirus cases among the Nepali community.

Together with urging the locals and members of the Nepali community to abide by the safety measures set by the authority, the office has expressed its solidarity with the measures imposed by the Victorian Government.

However, the office has requested the Nepalis not to panic but to act sincerely and responsibly and has added, “On a positive note, we have been told their health conditions are stable, and all patients are recovering. 42 out of those 146 are recovered and cleared from isolation.”

The statement issued by the Consuls office has urged the Nepali community ‘to continue practicing vigilance – to avoid unnecessary travel outside their homes, unless for emergencies or food-supply.’

As there are huge penalties and legal consequences of disobeying public health orders, the Consul’s office has requested all to abide by the health directives strictly.

It has urged everyone to use Face Mask when going out in the public and requested if anyone is exhibiting symptoms or has come in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 to get tested and not to hide any symptoms.
