Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll reaches 68 as one more dies in Siraha

KATHMANDU: One more person has died from coronavirus in Nepal, taking the death toll to 68.

According to District Health Office, Siraha, a 23-year-old man of Golbazaar-12, Siraha died on Thursday night.  The youth had been suffering from kidney ailment for the last two years and been undergoing dialysis.

“A 23-year-old person infected with coronavirus died while undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences at 10:45 pm on Thursday,” confirmed Dr Dinesh Sapkota, the spokesperson for the hospital.

He had been referred to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan from Janakpur Hospital after his condition deteriorated.

He was confirmed to have been infected from the virus on Wednesday.

Nepal Army is making preparations to conduct funeral rites for the deceased, said Chief of District Health Office, Siraha Bishnu Dev Yadav.

With this, the number of deaths from coronavirus in Nepal has reached 68.

However, the Ministry of Health and Population will come up with a formal announcement.
