Indian security forces obstruct Hulaki Road construction in Kanchanpur

KANCHANPUR: India’s security forces have constructed the construction of Nepal’s Hulaki Road in Kanchanpur district.

According to Area Police Office Belauri, the armed Indian side entered Nepal in 15 vehicles at the construction site and obstructed the construction work of the Hulaki Road near the reference pillar 38 in Pachui, Belauri.

“The Indian side has been creating fuss here,” Inspector Ran Bahadur Chand said, “The task of constructing the base is 75% complete.”

According to the sources, the Indian armed forces came to Nepal without the knowledge of Nepali security forces.

Last year, the Indian forces had obstructed the graveling of the road. The construction site is 10 meters inside the  reference pillar.

According to the locals, citing that construction of border pillar in the Chaudhar river was not feasible, the reference pillar was established 300 meters inside the Nepali side.

“The Indians have started obstructing the road since last year,” Poti Lal Chaudhary, the Mayor of Belauri Municipality said.

“The Nepal-India Joint Border Survey Team had consented the construction as the road is on Nepali side, but the armed forces obstruct frequently,” he added.
