Dhakal designated NSC acting member-secretary



KATHMANDU: Bhakta Bahadur Dhakal has been designated as the acting member secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC).

The Ministry of Youths and Sports on Monday has given the responsibility of acting member secretary to Dhakal.
Also the Chief of Sports Division of the Ministry, Dhakal got the responsibility of acting member secretary as per the minister-level decision held on Sunday.

According to the Ministry, Dhakal has been designated the responsibility of member-secretary until further arrangement as per Article 17 (12) of the National Sports Development Act-2077.

The new act has been brought into practice from July 2. With the new act, the term of NSC member-secretary Ramesh Kumar Silwal, vice-chairperson Pitamber Timsina, as well as board members, has been terminated.

As per the new act, the ministry would form a three-member recommendation committee for the appointment of a new member-secretary.

The Ministry would submit the name of the candidates recommended by the committee to the cabinet. The cabinet would appoint the member-secretary from among the candidates.
