NEW DELHI: India and China have held talks in an attempt to resolve the month-long border standoff in Eastern Ladakh.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), India and China have agreed to peacefully resolve the situation.
The MEA said the military talks between the two countries took place in cordial and peaceful atmosphere.
In an official statement released today, the MEA said that the two countries have agreed to resolve the standoff in accordance with several bilateral agreements.
The peace and tranquility in the border areas, the statement said, is essential for the development of bilateral relations.
“In recent weeks, India and China have maintained communications through established diplomatic and military channels to address the situation in areas along the India-China border.”
It said that both the sides have agreed to resolve the situation in the border areas.
India and China have also agreed that an early resolution of the problem would contribute to further development of the relationship between them.
