Nepal reports 213 new COVID-19 cases; figure reaches 3,448



KATHMANDU: Nepal has confirmed 213 fresh cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, with the addition of the cases, total cases in Nepal have reached 3,448.

Speaking at a regular press briefing, Spokesperson Dr. Bikash Devkota said that among the newly-infected are 209 male and 4 female.

So far, the number of recovery from COVID-19 in Nepal has reached 467 — 398 male and 69 female — according to Spokesperson Dr. Devkota.

Meanwhile, 102–100 male and 2 female– COVID-19 patients have been discharged from various hospitals in the last 24 hours, after recovering from the virus infection.

The virus has now spread to 71 out of 77 districts.

Meanwhile, Nepal has reported 13 COVID-19 deaths so far, according to the Ministry.

According to the Ministry of Health, 96,205 tests have been carried out using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method so far. Out of this, 4,111 samples were tested through the PCR method in the last 24 hours.

A total of 168,031 people have been quarantined across the country currently.

He said that 168 people are in isolation in Province 1; 974 in Province 2; 55 in Bagmati Province; 108 in Gandaki Province; 944 in Province 5; 621 in Karnali Province and 96 in Province Sudurpaschim Province.

Out of the total cases, 249 are in Province 1; 1,077 in Province 2; 90 in Bagmati Province; 73 in Gandaki Province; 1,061 in Province 5; 579 in Karnali Province and 106 in Sudurpaschim Province.
